Karen Wallace heads the family department. She is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), a national organisation of solicitors specialising in family law who are committed to a constructive and cost effective approach. The firm aims to promote conciliation rather than confrontation as a means of settling disputes, leading to negotiated settlements in a high percentage of cases.
The team deals with all aspects of family breakdown including:
- Separation agreements
- Divorce and civil partnership dissolution
- Cohabitation and pre/post nuptial agreements
- Financial and property disputes
- Arrangements for children involving contact, residence, specific issues and parental responsibility agreements
Karen Wallace is also trained in collaborative Family Law, which is a relatively new way of resolving Family disputes without going to court. It involves the separating couple meeting together with their respective lawyers to try to resolve issues in a way that is in the best interests of the family as a whole, as a conscious endeavour to strive for the “good divorce”.
